The UFC arrived in the Middle East this week for UFC Saudi Arabia, a Fight Night card headlined by former middleweight champion (and one of the promotion’s biggest stars), Israel Adesanya.

For the first time since 2018, “The Last Stylebender” finds himself in a non-title fight, paired up with surging French contender Nassourdine Imavov. Having won three straight, Imavov has found himself in similar circumstances before; a prior three-fight run up the division ended when Sean Strickland turned him back.

Can he get over the hump against Adesanya, or will the former champ prove to be too much, and reinsert himself into the title picture? In a stroke of smart matchmaking, Adesanya vs. Imavov takes place just a week out from Dricus Du Plessis vs. Sean Strickland 2, where the fate of the UFC middleweight title will be decided.

Weigh-ins for UFC Saudi Arabia take place on Friday locally; results can be found below.
