Toyota has issued a safety recall impacting specific 2024-2025 Tacoma 4-wheel drive vehicles, alongside the 2025 Toyota Camry and Lexus NX, as well as 2024-2025 Lexus RX models. This recall encompasses approximately 106,000 Tacoma vehicles and about 41,000 Camry and Lexus units within the United States. The Tacoma recall addresses a potential issue with rear brake hoses that may deteriorate due to mud and dirt accumulation in the rear wheels while off-road, which could lead to brake fluid leaks and heighten the risk of accidents. Toyota dealers will replace the rear brake hoses with enhanced versions free of charge for affected customers, who are expected to receive notifications by early April 2025. Additionally, there is another recall related to a noncompliance issue involving the second-row center seatbelt in certain Camry and Lexus models, which could have been compromised during manufacturing, potentially failing to meet safety standards and increasing injury risk in a crash. Dealers will inspect and, if needed, replace the seatbelt assembly at no cost. Notifications for this issue will also be sent out by early April 2025. Vehicle owners can verify if their vehicles are included in these recalls by visiting Toyota.com/recall, Lexus.com/recall, or nhtsa.gov/recalls, and entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate details. For any inquiries, Toyota customer support can be contacted at 1-800-331-4331, while Lexus owners should reach out to the Lexus Guest Experience Center at 1-800-255-3987.
