The World Cup Heads to Bali in 2025
The IFSC just announced that the final stop of the Asia leg of the World Cup tour this year will be held in Bali, Indonesia from May 2 to 4. It’s the first time a World Cup has been held in Bali. The country’s capital Jakarta has held three major international comp climbing events in the past: a World Cup in 2022 and a World Cup and the Asian Olympic Qualifier in 2023.
The Bali World Cup will feature both a Lead event and Speed event. Indonesia’s top speed climbers are expected to participate in the event, including Paris Olympic champion Veddriq Leonardo. Top women’s speed competitor Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi is also expected to attend.
The 2025 World Cup season starts with two back-to-back events in Keqiao and Wujiang, China in April. It then moves to Bali before heading over to the Americas, stopping in Curitiba, Brazil and then Salt Lake City and Denver. The tour then heads to Europe, with events in Prague, Bern, Innsbruck, Krakow, Chamonix, Madrid, Klagenfurt, and Koper. The full 2025 schedule can be found on the IFSC’s website here.
