Robinhood recently hosted its annual Women in Tech Mixer at our Menlo Park office—an evening designed to connect, celebrate, and ignite conversations among women and allies shaping the future of technology—and it did not disappoint!
United by a shared commitment to inclusion, innovation, and impact, the event brought together more than 100 attendees from across Robinhood and the broader tech community.
The night kicked off with networking topics like “What advice would you give your younger self?” to future-focused questions like “If AI could replace part of your job, what would it be?” and “Would you rather be paid in crypto?” These prompts struck a balance of introspection and curiosity—and based on the laughter and buzz in the room, no one was short on things to say.
Our panel discussion was guided by the theme: “Navigating Growth, Leadership, Innovation, and Impact as Women in Tech.” The panel—introduced by our CTO Jeff Pinner, and hosted by Rebecca Kruse, Senior Leader in Talent Acquisition and Lahari Katam, a leader of our WIT ERG and a Staff TPM—featured four incredible tech leaders: Erika Dean, Chief Security Office, Dheerja Kaur, VP of Product, and two external speakers Yvonne Luo, VP of Engineering at Faire, and Shalini Agarwal, Senior Director of Engineering at LinkedIn.
These leaders shared stories of how they entered the tech industry—some by design, others by chance—and reflected on how focusing on impact and mastering their craft became the foundation for career growth. They spoke about trusting your instincts, staying grounded in your values, and resisting pressures to conform.
A powerful message echoed throughout: be true to yourself—and lift others as you rise. The idea of paying it forward became a resounding call to action. Whether through mentorship, advocacy, or simply creating space for others to shine, the panel reminded us that leadership isn’t just about reaching the top—it’s about making the journey easier for those who follow.
This gathering was more than just an event—it was a celebration of community, courage, and our continued commitment to support women in tech.
We’re already counting down till next year! Until then, stay connected with us.
