In today's dining scene, it's not often you can find a meal under $25 that genuinely satisfies. Recently, I visited P.F. Chang's, the popular American Asian bistro, to indulge in their Chef's Feast for two—three prix-fixe courses for just $23 per person. As I sat down, I was eager to see if this deal fulfilled its promise of value. The first course offered a choice between egg-drop soup, hot-and-sour soup, or the house salad. I decided on the egg-drop soup and house salad. While the soup was packed with vegetables, I felt it lacked the boldness I craved; a sprinkle of salt would have elevated it. The house salad, while delicious, was drenched in a tangy soy-sesame dressing that made the lettuce a bit too soggy. I struggled with the tall bowl design, which made it tricky to serve myself. As for the shared appetizer, I chose the pork spring rolls—a highlight of the meal. Their crispiness and savory filling shone, with a delightful blend of cabbage, garlic, and ginger, complemented by a flavorful duck sauce. For my entrées, I first selected the crispy honey chicken. The crunchy breading was just right, but I hoped for a more pronounced honey flavor and some added spiciness. The second course was the restaurant's famous lo mein with beef, which exceeded my expectations. The noodles were expertly cooked and generously portioned, though I wished there was more beef to enjoy. Normally, if I had ordered everything à la carte, my bill would have soared over $72, but thanks to this incredible meal deal, the total was just $50 after tax—remarkably reasonable given the quality. This meal was a refreshing change from typical diner fare or pricier fast-food chains. Overall, P.F. Chang's Chef's Feast is a delightful way to enjoy multiple courses without breaking the bank. Most dishes impressed me sufficiently that I'd certainly order them again.
