Nova Scotia and PEI highlight 2024-25 Rivalry Series schedule
Canada and the United States will bring their Rivalry Series tour to the Maritimes in 2024-25, Hockey Canada announced on Tuesday.
Halifax will be Canada’s first stop in the series on home soil, with the bordering nations set to face off at Scotiabank Centre on Feb. 6. A trip to Summerside, PEI, will follow two days later, on Feb. 8, to round out the series.
“Halifax and Summerside have proven to be successful international hockey hosts, and we know both communities will embrace the opportunity to welcome and cheer on the best players from Canada and the United States as they compete in the Rivalry Series in February 2025,” D’Arcy Hutcheson, director of events with Hockey Canada, said in a release sent out by the organization.
“The Rivalry Series has become a fan-favourite event on the international hockey calendar, and the teams will enjoy facing off in front of passionate hockey fans in two great Canadian communities.”
The Rivalry Series will kick off in San Jose, California, continuing to West Valley City, Utah, and Boise, Idaho, Nov. 6-10.
Natalie Spooner’s three-point showing in Game 7 of last season’s Rivalry Series propelled Canada to a 6-1 drubbing over the U.S. to take the event, 4-3.
Canada faced elimination four times during last year’s matchup with the U.S. but rang off just as many wins to help clinch the title.
