Kemp played 10 of his 15 seasons with the Dodgers, and ranks 7th in franchise history with 203 home runs.

After three players were elected to the Hall of Fame by the BBWAA for two years in a row, the 2026 ballot is certain to be a quieter year come Cooperstown weekend.

Only two holdovers next year got even 40 percent on the 2025 ballot, with Carlos Beltran getting 70.3 percent this year and one-time Dodgers outfielder Andruw Jones at 66.2 percent. They will be on their fourth and ninth ballots, respectively.

Four other former Dodgers will carry over onto the 2026 ballot, headlined by Chase Utley, who got 39.8 percent this year in his second year on the ballot. Other former Dodgers on next year’s ballot are Manny Ramírez (on his 10th and final ballot), Bobby Abreu, and Jimmy Rollins.

Matt Kemp is the most notable former Dodger among the first-time-eligible players for next year’s ballot, which will be announced in November. Anyone who played at least 10 seasons in the majors is eligible for the Hall of Fame, once five seasons have passed since their final year.

Kemp last played in 2020, but didn’t officially announce his retirement until 2024.

“I’m grateful to be able to put this jersey on,” Kemp said at Dodger Stadium in August before a ceremony at Dodger Stadium. “It’s a different energy here. It’s just something that you can’t really explain.”

Kemp played 10 of his 15 major league seasons with the Dodgers, made three All-Star teams, won two Gold Glove Awards, and two Silver Slugger awards. He finished second in National League MVP voting in 2011 after hitting 39 home runs, stealing 40 bases, and leading the league in WAR.

Kemp lost that MVP to future PED-suspended Ryan Braun, who will also be eligible for his first Hall of Fame ballot in 2026.

There are no obvious first-ballot Hall of Famers next year, with Cole Hamels — also, technically a former Dodger — leading the group with 59 bWAR, and Braun second at 47.1. Other former Dodgers who could be on the 2026 ballot include Howie Kendrick and Edinson Vólquez.

Without knowing which players might be on the Contemporary Baseball Era — folks whose primary contributions came from 1980 to present — in December, the best chance for a Dodger to get inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2026 is if Andruw Jones gets in on the BBWAA ballot. 2025 will mark the fourth consecutive year there’s been at least one former Dodger inducted into Cooperstown:
