LFA 200: Johns vs Douglas

Despite the cold temperatures outside, the promotion will certainly be bringing the heat with an incredibly stacked seven-fight main card, including three title bouts, ranging from women’s flyweight to welterweight. From local heroes to top talent from across the co and beyond, LFA 200 promises to be an exciting showcase to some of the best MMA fighters outside the UFC. Catch the main card on UFC Fight Pass at 9pm ET.

LFA 200: Alvin Hines vs Mark Currier (Heavyweight)

Making his fourth LFA appearance, Alvin Hines (better known by the locals as Goozie) looks to continue his undefeated streak in front of his home state of Minnesota. Going unbeaten as an amateur, Hines has continued his perfect streak into his professional career.

This has translated into a nearly one-hundred percent finishing rate across his entire combat sports career, earning himself high praise and deafening cheers from the supportive Minnesota crowd. Should he get the job done in spectacular fashion this weekend, a call to the big leagues may not be far out of reach for “Goozie.”

When it comes to battle-tested veterans, Mark Currier fits the description in every sense of the word. Before he turned professional in late 2021, “The Wolf” had garnered ten amateur fights, scoring the Brutaal Genesis North Iowa Fights Heavyweight and Super Heavyweight Championships respectively. However, he still has yet to hit his stride amongst the pros, currently sitting with a record 3-4.

LFA 200: Santos Verdinez vs Ethyn Ewing (Bantamweight)

Since losing his last contest back in July 2023, Santos Verdinez has been on a roll on the regional circuit. Winning almost all of his past four fights by stoppage, the Start BJJ product has only seen a third round just once in the past couple of years. He even ended one of those matches with a rare Von Flue Choke, demonstrating a growing competency in his Jiu-Jitsu game.

Making the trip all the out from California, Ethyn Ewing looks to keep his win streak alive in his first fight of 2025. Jumping straight into the professional ranks during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Ewing lost his first two consecutive fights. Since this pair of setbacks, though, he hasn’t tasted defeat, winning his next six trips to the cage, with all but one of them ending by way of knockout.

LFA 200: Devon Lozej vs Enrique Pacheco Parra (Flyweight)

From the early stages of his career, Canada’s Devon Lozej has had all the makings of an entertaining finisher. He won all of his amateur bouts by stoppage, while also snatching two different bantamweight titles under the Ogitchidaa Fight Promotions banner. Since climbing to the professional level, “The Dream” has become a nightmare matchup on the Midwestern MMA scene, racking up a 7-2 record and taking the Ignite Fights Flyweight strap and defended it once.

Out of all the competitors on the main card, Enrique Pacheco Parra may just have the most elite-level Jiu-Jitsu. Ending all but two of his eight victories by submission (including three by guillotine choke), “La Pesadilla” has proven to be a stiff challenge for almost everyone on the ground. Entering his most high-profile fight to date at LFA 200, Pacheco Parra has the chance to tap himself and his submission prowess into a much larger degree of notoriety.

LFA 200: Joey Hart vs Chris Mixan (Welterweight)

In the last non-title bout of the evening, Joey Hart is seeking his third straight victory in the LFA. Coming off of a split decision defeat to Benjamin Bennett on Dana White’s Contender Series last year, “The Hitman” is presented with the perfect opportunity to get back on the UFC’s radar in his main card appearance this Saturday. Having attained all of his wins by knockout, don’t be surprised if the bruiser from Start BJJ gets the job done at LFA 200 in spectacular fashion.

At only 26 years old, Chris Mixan already has a wide-range of combat sports experience under his belt. Starting out as a stand out amateur MMA competitor with two championship wins, “Cossack” also dabbled in boxing and bare knuckle mixed martial arts. He also has fought twice under the banner of the Professional Fighters League, winning both of his matches there.

LFA 200: Vanilto Antunes vs Shamidkhan Magomedov (Welterweight Championship)

Kicking off a trio of title contests, current LFA Welterweight Champion Vanilto Antunes will endeavor to record his first defense after seizing the belt back in early 2024. After capturing said strap, the Brazilian attempted to earn a coveted UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series last year, only to come up short. Returning now to cement his place as the best 170-lb fighter on the LFA roster, Antunes is only just one more statement victory away from another shot at the big time.

In an almost similar position to his opponent, Russia’s Shamidkhan Magomedov also won LFA gold back in 2024, taking the Interim Welterweight Championship. He was then cast to take part in that year’s Ultimate Fighter season, but was cut out of the tournament after losing his first fight by submission. He then returned to the promotion later that October to defend his interim belt.

Hoping to punch his own ticket to the UFC, Magomedov will be fighting to unify both championships in what is shaping up to be one of the more entertaining bouts on the card.

LFA 200 Co-Main Event: Shannon Clark vs Cheyanne Bowers (Women’s Flyweight Championship)

Before becoming an LFA title holder, Shannon Clark already had experience as a professional MMA champion, having previously scored the Rumble in the Cage Flyweight Championship. She then earned the LFA 125-lb strap earlier last year, gaining her a spot on Dana White’s Contender Series in late 2024. Unfortunately, her first try to relieve a UFC contract ended in disastrous fashion when she was knocked out cold in arguably the largest upset on the show ever. Making a rebound from the loss this weekend, the “MMA Barbie” will seek to turn away her first challenger for her LFA gold.

Making her triumphant return to Minnesota, Cheyanne Bowers looks to start 2025 with a resounding bang by becoming the LFA’s undisputed flyweight champion. Capturing the interim belt in her last outing to the Land of 10,000 Lakes by first round submission, Bowers now finds herself one win away from standing as one of the top female 125-lb prospects in MMA. Should she manage to unify both belts, then the door to the UFC may just swing wide open for her.

LFA 200 Main Event: Elijah Johns vs LerryAn Douglas (Featherweight Championship)

In the final bout of the night at LFA 200, distinguished LFA veteran Elijah Johns will headline his third straight company main event as he makes his first defense of his 145-lb championship. Taking the vacant featherweight belt in his last walk to the cage, Johns could have a strong case to call himself a pound-for-pound great in the LFA if he can successfully hang on to his strap.

Back in August of last year, LerryAn Douglas needed only seven minutes to secure the LFA Interim Featherweight strap, starching a very game Javier Reyes (who was on a eight-fight win streak at the time). Since losing his promotional debut back in 2023, the heavy-handed Brazilian has rattled off three straight victories over opponents whose combined records total 33-6. Once the cage door closes, fight fans should scarcely blink, otherwise they may just miss “Gunslinger” ending the bout in the blink of an eye.

In 2 Days, LFA Interim Featherweight Champion @LerryanMMA looks to unify the LFA Featherweight Title in the Main Event of #LFA200! 🇧🇷
