How Can a Loving God also be a God of Wrath?
Good Morning Girls!
Studying the book of Jeremiah feels heavy for me. I want to be faithful to teach God’s Word, but a lot of these chapters in Jeremiah are not a warm fuzzy and a challenge to teach here online.
I’d LOVE to skip over these chapters. I don’t want to make people feel bad…but it’s not kind to not let people know, that they should not trifle with GOD ALMIGHTY!
God’s love and grace are emphasized in our churches today and that is good.
I love grace because it is the gospel!
But you don’t have to read very far in the Bible before you run into God’s wrath. Around page 3…or more specifically Genesis 3, we see the fall of man and the judgement of God.
And then a few pages later…in Genesis 6, we see the story of Noah and the Ark, and the flood that God used to judge the wickedness of mankind.
And so as we read the book of Jeremiah – verse by verse and chapter by chapter, we see the anger of God simmering towards the disobedience of his people and that leads us to this question…
How Can a Loving God ALSO be a God of Wrath?

We see in the book of Jeremiah, the coming judgment of God but we also see in Jeremiah, the love of God, as he warns his people and he gives them chance after chance after chance to repent.
For those today who do not listen to the warnings in God’s word and repent – God’s judgement is coming.
But As a child of God, may we never forget – even on hard days – that God loves us so much.
We will never have to face his wrath!
He has forgiven us of all of our sins and he is Immanuel – God with us.
You are never alone. He is with you to the end!
I hope this week’s video encourages you and I can’t wait to begin Week 4 in Jeremiah with you next week!
Until then – Keep walking with the King!
