Just hours after news broke that the Pittsburgh Steelers were sending wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, the news became official. The Cowboys posted the trade on social media, making official what the reports have said.

The Steelers sent Pickens and a 2026 sixth-round pick in exchange a third-round pick in 2026 and a fifth-round pick in 2027. Pickens is heading into the final year of his rookie contract and the Steelers were shopping him actively even prior to the 2025 NFL draft.

Pittsburgh added wide receiver DK Metcalf via trade at the start of free agency and signed veteran Robert Woods less than a week ago. This move gives the Steelers a projected three third-round picks in the 2026 NFL draft but leaves them with a huge void at wide receiver.

⚠️ TRADE ALERT ⚠️

We’ve agreed to terms to acquire WR George Pickens and a 2026 6th-round pick from the Steelers in exchange for a 2026 3rd-round pick and a 2027 5th-round pick.
