BKFC Mohegan Sun’s Must-See Main Card Fights
BKFC Mohegan Sun is two days away. A week ago Saturday, it was BKFC KnuckleMania V taking center stage in primetime on DAZN. A total of 17,762 spectators walked through the doors of Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center to see the action.
Official figures from the card indicate that the 17,762 people who paid to see the show made for a new promotional record for a live audience. This week, David Feldman and his staff stay in the East Coast for a trek to Uncasville, CT and Mohegan Sun Arena for BKFC Mohegan Sun as the promotion’s 2025 schedule continues.
Live coverage of Saturday’s event begins with the countdown show at 5 pm ET/ 2 pm PT on the official BKFC YouTube channel before moving onto the two-fight undercard at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT on DAZN and YouTube. The main card caps the evening at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT. If there are no 11th-hour postponements between now and Saturday night, the final version of BKFC Mohegan Sun will feature an 11-fight bare-knuckle boxing card.
Must-See Fights on BKFC Mohegan Sun’s Main Card Saturday
We’ve already discussed the undercard previously, but now it’s time for us to talk about the main card. There are a number of noteworthy contests taking place on that portion of the event, so why waste any more time and start talking about it?
Note: All fights in BKFC are five rounds at two minutes per round.
BKFC Mohegan Sun Main Event: Julian Lane vs. Cameron VanCamp
At the top of the bill on Saturday night is a contest in the welterweight division (165 lbs) between Julian Lane (7-7 bare-knuckle, 5-6 BKFC) and Cameron VanCamp (2-1 BKFC). Julian Lane, nicknamed “Let Me Bang”, has posted a mark of 4-1 in his last five combat sports appearances.
Currently, he’s on a four-fight winning streak. Most recently, he bested Alfredo Angulo (1-1 BKFC) by unanimous decision after five rounds back in November during BKFC Montana on DAZN.
In the other corner, Cameron VanCamp enters the BKFC Mohegan Sun main event of the evening having gone 2-3 in his last five contests. VanCamp has won two fights in succession. Last time out, he scored a split decision victory over Brandon Girtz last October in BKFC 67 in Denver. Both fighters in the main event of the evening are on winning streaks and the victor here could be one step closer to an eventual bid at the title.
BKFC Mohegan Sun Co-Main Event: Brennan Ward vs. James Dennis
Immediately beforehand, the co-main event of the evening sees action take place in the middleweight ranks. Former Bellator MMA Middleweight Tournament Champion Brennan Ward (17-9 MMA) makes his BKFC promotional debut when he knuckles up with James Dennis (2-1 BKFC.)
Ward comes into BKFC Mohegan Sun’s co-headlining attraction with a 2-3 mark over the course of his last five contests inside the cage, hopeful that he gets his hand raised in victory this weekend because he’s dropped three consecutive contests. Last summer, he was on the receiving end of a first-round submission by way of anaconda choke versus Magomed Umalatov during PFL 6, a loss that eliminated him from playoff contention.
Across the way, James Dennis enters the fight having posted a 2-3 record of his own dating back to his days as an amateur MMA fighter. It’s been a while since he last set foot in an arena to have a fight, however. Back in June of 2023, he finished Rene Rodriguez in the second round by way of knockout.
Cancelled bouts have become something of a habit for James Dennis. Four out of his last five scheduled fights have been called off without a punch being thrown for various reasons, including three cancelled contests in a row.
With more than 20 months between fights, how much ring rust has James Dennis had? Will his lack of activity be his undoing in BKFC Mohegan Sun’s co-main event? For the answers, tune in and find out.
BKFC Mohegan Sun: Will Santiago vs. Dakota Cochrane
Also on the BKFC Mohegan Sun main card Saturday night, you’ll see more middleweight action, this contest pitting Will Santiago (2-0-1 BKFC) against Dakota Cochrane (6-2 BKFC). Will Santiago walks into Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday night having posted a record of 2-2-1 in his last five combat sports appearances.
At the moment, he’s on a three-fight unbeaten streak. Nearly a year and a half ago, he saw his fight versus Jeremie Holloway in BKFC 48 end in a majority draw after 10 minutes of action.
Santiago was scheduled to fight the aforementioned James Dennis last year, but this contest was among the four bouts that Dennis had postponed for one reason or another out of the five he had scheduled between March of 2023 and August of 2024. Can he score another victory this week?
Meanwhile, Dakota Cochrane is sporting a 4-1 record over his last five combat sports fights, including three knockout victories in succession. Last May, he finished Jeremie Holloway with a second-round knockout in 42 seconds’ time.
Cochrane has been on quite a roll of late. Only time will tell if he’ll be able to keep it up.
