And just like that… awards season kicked back into high gear and red carpet bloggers everywhere (all ten of us) sighed in relief. First time Academy Award nominee Ariana Grande took a little victory lap and also answers a question that’s been on our mind since long before Wicked even opened. “Are they gonna do character cosplay all the way up to the Oscars red carpet?” Thankfully, blessedly, the answer appears to be “No.” For now, anyway.
We still suspect she’s going to show up on the big night in the poofiest princess gown you ever saw. As for this rather confused frock, the beige looks really good on her (See? We don’t hate this color; just how thoughtlessly it tends to get deployed), but that bodice is a hat. In semi-related news, with the resurgence of sheer tights and the return to brown as a fashion color, we need to start getting ladies into brown-hued tights. Black doesn’t go with everything.
